Lieutenant Colonel Montgomery was commissioned in 1999 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. After attending graduate school, he completed undergraduate pilot training in 2001. Following pilot training, he served as a T-38 Instructor Pilot before transitioning to the F-16 in 2005. Since then, Lieutenant Colonel Montgomery has served in a variety of operational and training assignments, performing duties as an F-16 Instructor/Evaluator Pilot, Scheduling Officer, Safety Officer, Flight Commander, and Assistant Director of Operations. Most recently, he served as the Director of Operations for the 31st Operations Support Squadron and then the 555th Fighter Squadron. Lieutenant Colonel Montgomery is a senior pilot with over 2,400 flying hours in the F-16, T-38 and T-37, including 260 combat hours.
